On July 11, 2026, Jiahemay Senior Association organized 16 senior members and two youth volunteers to participate in the Brampton Multicultural Festival. Although the venue was about 80 km round trip from our community, members enthusiastically took part in the event. Several members kindly drove and gave rides to others, demonstrating the Association’s strong spirit of teamwork, mutual support, and community care.

During the festival, the Association presented two traditional Chinese dance performances and a saxophone ensemble. The performances received warm applause from the audience. Dressed in beautiful traditional Chinese costumes, our performers attracted many visitors from diverse cultural backgrounds. Residents from Indian, Nepalese, Burmese, and other communities complimented the costumes and eagerly took photos with our performers, creating a lively atmosphere of friendship and cultural exchange.

In addition to performing, members enjoyed cultural performances by other communities, experienced the rich traditions of different cultures, and sampled a variety of international foods. These interactions helped strengthen mutual understanding and appreciation among people from diverse backgrounds. Two youth volunteers also provided valuable assistance by taking photos and videos and helping manage equipment throughout the event, demonstrating the spirit of intergenerational collaboration and volunteerism.

The festival provided seniors with an opportunity to showcase their talents, stay physically active, and engage with the broader community. It enriched their cultural and social lives, promoted physical and mental well-being, and strengthened their sense of belonging. At the same time, the event showcased the richness of Chinese culture while fostering friendship, mutual understanding, and multicultural inclusion within the community.

弘扬中华文化 促进多元交流——家和美长者联谊会参加Brampton多元文化节

2026年7月11日，家和美长者联谊会组织16位会员和两位青年义工参加了Brampton多元文化节。虽然活动地点距离较远，往返约80公里，但会员们热情高涨、积极参与，多位会员主动驾车接送其他伙伴，充分体现了团结互助的团队精神。

活动中，协会表演了两个舞蹈节目和一组萨克斯风重奏，精彩演出赢得了现场观众的热烈掌声。演员们身着具有中国特色的演出服，吸引了众多不同族裔观众驻足欣赏。来自印度、尼泊尔、缅甸等族裔的居民纷纷称赞我们的服装漂亮，并主动与演员合影留念，在轻松愉快的交流中感受中华文化的独特魅力。

演出之余，会员们还欣赏了各族裔的精彩表演，体验不同国家的特色文化和美食，进一步增进了彼此的了解与友谊。两位青年义工全程协助拍摄、照看物品，为活动顺利进行提供了有力支持，展现了跨代合作和志愿服务精神。

此次活动不仅为长者提供了展示才艺、锻炼身体、融入社区的平台，丰富了精神文化生活，促进了身心健康，也进一步弘扬了中华优秀传统文化，促进了不同族裔之间的交流与友谊，为建设包容、和谐的多元文化社区贡献了力量。
