On August 22 at noon, at the invitation of the Peel Region Multicultural Centre, nearly 80 members of the Jiahemay Senior Association, led by President Qiquan Zhang, participated in the Peel Region Multicultural Summer BBQ.

More than 200 community residents and friends from diverse cultural backgrounds gathered at the event to enjoy a lively and joyful summer afternoon together.

The event was attended by community leaders, multicultural representatives, and government representatives, who came to show their support and interact with community members. Members of Jiahemay Senior Association also took photos with guests and friends from different cultural communities, sharing in the warmth and vibrant spirit of our multicultural community.

During the event, everyone joined together in singing the Canadian national anthem, enjoying delicious food, and socializing with one another. Jiahemay Senior Association also presented two wonderful performances: the waist drum performance “Munao Zongge” and the “Who Is the Most Beautiful Lady?” Bajiaojin scarf dance. The energetic performances received warm applause from the audience.

After the performances, our members enthusiastically joined the group square dancing, dancing and interacting with friends from different cultural backgrounds. Through laughter and joyful moments, everyone had the opportunity to learn more about one another and build new friendships.

This wonderful event not only brought joy to the community but also created a valuable opportunity for people from different cultural backgrounds to connect and build friendships. Jiahemay Senior Association will continue to actively participate in community events, showcase the vitality and spirit of Chinese seniors, promote multicultural exchange, and contribute to building a friendly, inclusive, and harmonious community.

家和美长者联谊会参加皮尔区多元文化夏日BBQ活动

8月22日中午，应皮尔区多元文化中心邀请，在会长 Qiquan Zhang 的带领下，家和美长者联谊会近80位会员参加了皮尔区多元文化夏日BBQ活动。现场有200多位社区居民及来自不同文化背景的朋友欢聚一堂，共度了一个热闹、欢乐的夏日午后。

活动现场，各界嘉宾及多元文化社区代表到场支持，市政府代表也亲临活动现场，与大家交流互动。家和美会员与嘉宾及各族裔朋友合影留念，共同感受多元文化社区的热情与活力。

活动中，大家一起唱加拿大国歌，品尝美食，交流联谊。家和美还带来了两个精彩节目——腰鼓《目瑙纵歌》和八角巾舞蹈《谁家大美人》，热情洋溢的表演赢得了现场观众的热烈掌声。

演出结束后，会员们还积极参加集体广场舞，与来自不同文化背景的朋友一起跳舞、互动，在欢声笑语中增进了解、加深友谊。

此次活动不仅为大家带来了欢乐，也为不同族裔之间搭建了交流的平台。家和美长者联谊会将继续积极参与社区活动，展示华人长者的活力与风采，促进多元文化交流，共同建设友爱、和谐的社区。
